In and Out of Control
In my previous work, I typically began with a specific shape or image as the final result, then added colors and patterns to complement it during the process. However, in this project, I wanted to explore unexpected and unconventional designs by starting from the potential of patterns and textures.
Previously, I regarded patterns as purely decorative elements in design, but I realized they possess greater potential and functionality. This time, I focused on creating patterns first, using them as a source of inspiration to achieve unexpected results.
This project has two main goals. The first is to break away from my typical design approach by using the opposite methodology—working without a defined plan or specific final image in mind. I expect this approach to help me strike a balance between control and spontaneity. The second goal is to deeply explore the possibilities within the process of creating patterns, uncovering their full potential as a foundation for design.
